Bailey, Albert Jr., 92, of Huber Heights, passed away Friday, December 18, 2015.
He was born December 4, 1923 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Albert and Gertrude Bailey. Al was a devoted family man and provided love to all he knew. He married the love of his life, Bethel, in 1949, whom recently passed. He proudly served in WWII with the 383rd Anti- Aircraft Artillery Battalion in the Pacific Campaign. Al saw action in the Philippines, New Guinea, Letye, Okinawa and extended service in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. After the war, Al spent the next 30 years working at General Motors retiring in 1976. Since his retirement, he enjoyed time building, hobby farming, fishing, hunting and fixing just about anything. Most important to him though was spending time with his family and the love of his life, Bethel.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers. He is survived by two sons, Robert Keith (Ginny) Bailey and Gary Lee Bailey; daughter, Melba Lynn (Ronnie) Allen; five grandchildren, Bryan (Amie) Bailey, Rebecca (Tad) Zink, Sherry (Nathan) McConnaughey, Karie (Jason) Barber and Matthew Allen; 12 great-grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.
