Albert G Scheckelhoff, age 83, passed away after a long illness on November 27, 2015 in Beavercreek, Ohio. He was born to the late Albert and Irma Scheckelhoff in Dayton, Ohio. Al served as a SEABEE in The United States Navy and later retired from the Dayton Fire Department after 25 years. He was an avid outdoors man who loved to hunt and fish. Al was preceded in death by his grandson Ian Daubenmire and sister Elaine Marchal. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Janet Scheckelhoff; son Albert Scheckelhoff; daughters Anne (Gene) Iacovetta, Kathy (Joe) Jackson, Susan (Tal) Daubenmire; 9 grandchildren Emily, Rachael, Chad, Amanda, Brien, Nick, Alexa, Evan, Elizabeth; 3 great grandchildren Dominic, Layla, Alec; brother Richard Scheckelhoff; sister Eileen (Robert) Hess; 3 brother-in-laws John Blankenship, Roger (Teri) Blankenship, Kenneth Marchal; sister-in-law Nancy Riggs and a host of nieces, nephews and Al's special friend Jim Slyder. A visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, Beavercreek Chapel, on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 from 9:30am-10:45am with a funeral mass to follow at Church of the Ascension Dayton, Ohio at 12pm. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery following mass. A special thank you to Hospice of Dayton for their love and care for Al. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
