Alan Dale Schaar, 60, died January 4th, 2022 at his home in Beavercreek, Ohio, after a long battle with interstitial lung disease.
Alan is survived by his wife of 30 years, Deanna Schaar (Noice); his children, Emily (Jesse) Waggoner and Abigail Schaar (Taylor Bradshaw); his brothers Stanley (Neila) Schaar, Ronald (Mary) Schaar, and John (Audra) Schaar; and his two granddaughters Olivia and Addison Waggoner. He is preceded in death by his parents William "Max" and Gladys Schaar (Swaldo).
Alan was born in Lancaster Ohio on July 11, 1961 to William & Gladys Schaar. He graduated from THE Ohio State University in 1984 with a degree in Computer Science and had the privilege of traveling widely during his career. On July 5, 1991 he married Deanna Noice. Soon their family would be complete with the births of Emily and Abigail, both of which would become his whole life. Alan was always on the move with his job, but he always made time to attend the girls dance recitals, band concerts, choir concerts and graduation ceremonies. On the rare occasion when he wasn't working or at one of the girls' many events, the family would load up and go to the Outer Banks and spend time at the beach.
For over 35 years, Alan worked for numerous defense contractors in the Dayton area. Alan worked on many projects, most of which he will never get to let us know of, but through all of his years of service, he picked up a skill that was the most admirable…humility. Alan was always humble and could engage in a conversation with someone of any background. From rocket scientists to blue collar workers, Alan could hold a meaningful conversation with everyone. He was known as a go-to person for problem solving, from Infrared Navigation equipment to his children's taxes, Alan almost always had an answer, and if not he would find one. However, the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything is 42.
Alan is loved greatly and will be sorely missed by all who knew him. The family will receive friends and family on Friday, January 21, 2022 from 10-11am at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio 45432). A Memorial Service will begin at 11am at the Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you make a donation to The American Lung Association at Lung.org in his name.
