Our beloved Aaron L. DeWitte, age 60 of Dayton, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2023. He was born August 27, 1963 in Xenia, Ohio, the son of Carolyn Salyer and the late Roland DeWitte.
Aaron was an enthusiastic trumpet player and graduated from Springfield South High School. He then attended Wright State University where he earned his Bachelors Degree. For 34 years, he was delighted and so proud to work for Wright Patterson Air Force Base as a Computer Engineer. His most favorite time there was spent working on radar design for the B2 Bomber. Aaron was a true family man. He had a daughter at a very young age and loved being a father. He was a true Superfan, participating and cheering Patsy on in every endeavor. Aaron went on to bask in his illustrious role of grandfather to Bray and Ella. He enjoyed partaking in as many events of his grandchildren as he could. As a husband, Aaron cherished watching movies and game shows and traveling with Annette. He truly loved San Diego and their trip to Italy. The addition of her family gave him more experiences and richness in life. The opportunities to have family time in Florida with his parents and siblings were invaluable blessings. His love for music was quite eclectic, but heavy metal was the winner, and AC/DC was his favorite. He enjoyed sports, especially Basketball. Aaron was very much a fun loving person and created many joyful memories with those around him. Nothing was more important or valuable as time spent with his family. This was when he was happiest. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Aaron is survived by his loving wife, Annette; daughter, Patsy L. Skabla; grandson, Branden E. Skabla, Jr.; granddaughter, Ella M. Skabla; parents, Charles and Carolyn Salyer; sister, Shirley D. (Jack) Fabbo; and numerous extended family.
He is preceded in death by his father, Roland L. DeWitte.
