MEEHLING, A. Carlton "Carl", age 85, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2008 at 10 Wilmington Place. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Molly Meehling; the love of his life and wife of 35 years, Bernadine; brothers, Denver and Harold, and sister, Wilma Mae. Carlton is survived by his son, John Meehling and former daughter-in-law, Angie; daughter, Joanie and husband, Bob Wolfe; brothers, Guy Meehling of Cleveland, OH and Tom and wife, Margaret of Eustis, FL; sister, Eloise Maynard of Charleston, WV; grandchildren, Christian Wolfe (15), Hannah Wolfe (13), Emma Meehling (4), Andrew Meehling (2), and a host of other relatives and friends. He graduated from Huntington High School (WV) in 1940 and from University of WV in 1951 with a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was a U.S. Army WWII veteran with the 20th Armored Div. Artillery. He retired from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base where he worked as an aeronautical engineer. Carlton attended Fairhaven Church and served on the board of Dayton Christian Schools for many years. He was a loving father, grandfather, and Christian role model, who will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, May 31, 2008 at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering. Family will receive friends from 9:00am until the time of service at the funeral home.
