Thomas E. Slade, age 78, of Miamisburg, passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2018.
Tom was born in Dayton on August 29, 1940 to the late Harold & Dorothy (Millett) Slade. He graduated from Wilbur Wright H.S. class of 1959. Tom served in the U.S. Navy, where he met his wife while stationed in Newfoundland, Canada. He went to work at General Motors in 1968 and retired in 2001. Tom belonged to a hunting club in southern Ohio. Every fall he and his brothers went deer hunting in Wisconsin. Tom loved to spend his free time on his boat fishing.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Bernice Slade; daughters, Susan (Damon) Oedy and Carolyn (Sherman) Everett; grandchildren, Hannah, Mackenzie, Connor and Ellis; brothers, Richard Slade and Charles (Marsha) Slade; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 2, 2018 from 1-3pm at Newcomer South Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439. The memorial service will follow at 3pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Tom's memory to the American Cancer Society.
