Ruby Louise Jackson, age 98, of Dayton, passed away August 28, 2020. She was born in Logan, West Virginia, on August 12, 1922, the daughter of the late Sanders and Mary Coleman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Willie D. Jackson; and her sons, Michael B. Strong and Jeffrey Jackson; sister, Mary D. Higgins; twin nephews, John and Vaughn Higgins; three brothers, Samuel, Emmitt and Therman Higgins; and beloved friend, Mary R. Watson.
Ruby is survived by her children, Vernon Jackson, Tekii Fuqua and Darryl (Nancy) Strong; grandchildren, Kelly Strong, Shoshana Strong, Darryl Strong, Jr., Jeral Jackson, Hustus Davidson and Gleland Mapp; many loving great grandchildren; sister, Virginia Jordan; and many other loving family members and friends.
She was a member of the Jehovah's Witness West Central Hall for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed millinery, sewing, gardening and interior decorating. Ruby was the light of her family and will be greatly missed by everyone.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm-1:00 pm on Tuesday, September 8, 2020, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, OH. Burial will follow privately for immediate family only at Dayton National Cemetery.
