Richard Leroy Derringer, age 74 of Trotwood, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2018. Dick was born on August 14, 1944 in Dayton to the late Clyde and Marie (Niesley)Derringer. He was a hard-working and generous man. Dick worked for many years as an Iron Worker - Melrose Spouting. He later went on to own and operate his own business doing specialized craftsman and contracting work.
Dick was an avid outdoors man and enjoyed boating, fishing, and camping in his free time. He loved to listen to music and work with his hands. Dick took great pride in his family. He loved to spend time with his family whenever he could. Dick was a loving, caring, and compassionate husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by his daughters, Loretta Lou Derringer and Jessica Marie Derringer; sisters, Margaret Lentz and Renee McBride; brother, Ray Derringer; and daughter-in-law, Lisa Kay Derringer.
Dick leaves to cherish his memory, loving wife of 42 years, Teresa Derringer; children, Richard L. Derringer, Jr., Bill (Kimberly Joan) Derringer, Danny Strong, Dana (Ron Kash) Osbourn, and Jason Derringer; brothers, Clyde "Elsie" Derringer, Elmer Derringer, and Pepper Derringer; grandchildren, Dustin Smith, Billy Derringer Jr., Rachel Blanton, Dylan Marono, Clint Blanton, Travis Blanton, Cheyenne, Hailey Blanton, Harley Hamilton, Tyler Strong, Carson Strong, Brianna Fraiser, Brooke Derringer, Jason J. Derringer, Jr., Allison Lee, Madison Lee, Charles Lee and Edward (Mary) Bellman; great-grandchildren, Jaysen, Macey, and J.J.; and many other loving nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
A visitation will be held on Monday, October 1, 2018 at Newcomer - North Chapel from 5pm-8pm. A service will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 1:30pm. Family will greet friends and loved ones for one hour prior to service (12:30p-1:30p). Burial to follow at Shiloh Park Cemetery.
