Mark S. Hoxie, age 67 of Beavercreek, OH went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 31, 2021. He was born on August 24, 1953 in Columbus, Ohio to Lloyd and Margie (Bridges) Hoxie. He married Diane Phares on August 12, 1978 at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, OH.
Mark graduated from Fairborn High School in 1972 and attended Miami University after high school. He was commissioned in the Air Force as a second lieutenant upon graduation. Mark served nine years in the Air Force achieving the rank of Captain and worked the next 30 years for Northrop Grumman with Air Force Programs. He loved sports, especially football, golf and swimming. Mark enjoyed the outdoors and nurtured his house plants. He loved spending time with his grandkids, who called him Papa. Mark had many close friends throughout his life, who he and Diane enjoyed spending time and vacationing with. He was a fan of jazz and classic rock music, attending many concerts and festivals. Mark loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed by all.
Mark is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Diane; a son, Kyle R. (Christy) Hoxie; a daughter, Lauren J. (Nathan) Perry; four grandchildren, Samson, Katie, Daisy and Aaron; siblings, Lynn Crowe, Gayle Buskuhl and Scott (Tracey) Hoxie; and other cherished family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brother in laws, Jim Crowe and Carl Buskuhl.
A Celebration of Mark's Life will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 1:00 pm at The Vineyard Church, 4051 Indian Ripple, Beavercreek, Ohio 45440, please enter at the Red entrance. At Mark's request the celebration is to be casual and guests are invited to share a favorite memory or funny story during the celebration. Air Force Military Honors will follow the celebration and guests are welcome to remain afterwards for a gathering.
