Gloria Jean Talbott-Brown at age 74 departed this life unto her Heavenly home Sunday, December 19, 2021 at Widows Home of Dayton. She was born in Dayton, Ohio to Julius Talbott, Jr. and Willa F. Meyer (Powell). She attended Roosevelt High School, Dunbar High School where she graduated in 1965. She attended Cambridge College to obtain skills in nursing. Her passion was to help people. Gloria worked as a nurses assistant at Dayton Veteran Affairs in Ohio. She was also a member of McKinley United Methodist Church in Dayton, Ohio.
Gloria was a member of a very loving family who gave her the name "Momma Jean." She was a very devoted mother and grandmother. She raised most of her grandchildren from birth to over 22 years. Momma Jean's family legacy continues on remembering and cherishing the good ole times we all had together. Momma Jean loved the Lord, music, BBQ'ing, cooking, singing, shopping, movies, family and some good ole "me time."
Gloria was preceded in death by her father, Julius Talbott, Jr.; mother, Willa F. Meyer (Powell); 2nd dad, Willie Biggs; 2nd mom, Alice Talbott; 2 brothers: Roy and Ronald Talbott; 3 sisters: Glenna Green, Janet and Marilyn B. Biggs; 2 daughters: Regina Brown (oldest) and Robbin Gaye (middle); and other nieces and nephews.
Survivors include her brother, Jack Biggs; daughter, Dawanna G. Brown; niece, Tia Talbott; grandchildren: Robert (Brittany) Crawley, Rakim (Sasha) Crawley, Lawrence (Tatyana) Brown, Justin, LaRisha (DeRyan), Treamon and Alexander; great-grandchildren: Robert Jr., Elijah # 1, Elijah # 2, and the lovable "8" (Rakim's); nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. We will truly miss her. Rest peacefully Momma Jean.
The Glorious Home Going Service will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, with Pastor Dessie Bell officiating. Visitation hour is 9:30-10:30 am where family will lovingly receive friends prior to the service. The service will be private for the family. Interment will be at Willow View Cemetery.
