Gene P. Worthen, went to be with the Lord on Feb. 5, 2019. He was born on Aug. 5, 1929 to James and Hazel (Butler) Worthen in Draper, WI. He served in the army during the Korean War, worked at NCR in Dayton for 16 years and owned a ServiceMaster franchise for over 25 years. Gene also was member of Centerville Community church and enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles in his spare time. He married Barbara Conklin on Aug. 2, 1958 and was married 53 years when Barbara went to be with our Lord in 2011. He is survived by his son, Allen (Ellen) Worthen, daughter, Paulette (Jim) Noxon, and son, Craig (Suzanne) Worthen; his grandchildren, Kristy (Patrick) Rhodes, Jason (Ashley) Worthen, Jared (Cara) Worthen, Katie Worthen, Elizabeth Spivey and Ben Spivey, Tori (David) Bruot, Whitney Worthen, Cassaundra (Eric Jay) Lindsay; his great grandchildren, Lana, Alexa and Colton Rhodes, Baylen and Brilynn Worthen, Lucas Worthen and Erikson Bruot; his sister-in-law, Margaret Worthen and many other extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Bob and Bill; sisters, Lillie and Lucille and his grandson, Aaron Worthen. He was well loved by his family, friends and caretakers. He would bring a smile to everyone's face and known for his kind and gentle spirit. He loved God and raised his children to love and serve God as well. Family will receive guests from 5:00-7:00 pm Sunday, February 10 and 9:00-10:00 am Monday, February 11, 2019 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Kettering. A funeral service will follow on Monday at 10:00 AM also at the funeral home and officiated Pastor Lowell Miller. Procession to Miami Valley Memory Gardens, Centerville for burial with military honors will conclude services.
