Donald R. Marcum Sr.

Donald R. Marcum Sr., age 88 of Kettering, left his family peacefully to a better place on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born April 16, 1928 in Cobb Hill, Kentucky, the son of the late Clarence and Ina Marcum.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Larry Marcum; sister, Sylvia Anderson; and grandson, William Marcum.

Donald is survived by his loving wife, Mary Jane, with whom he was happily married for 68 years; four Sons, Gary (Cecilia) Marcum Sr., Don (Sherri) Marcum Jr., James (Dorothy) Marcum, Ivan Marcum, Sr.; four grandchildren, Richard Marcum, Gary Marcum, Jr., Michelle Gentry, Ivan Marcum, Jr.; four great grandchildren, Serenati, Elisia, Trey, Tressa; brother, Leonard "Ellis" Marcum; sister, Sharon Creamer; two step-grandchildren, Rodney (Susan) Smith, Sherri Smith.

Donald retired from General Motors after 44 years and was also a proud 55 year member of the Masons. Donald will be loved and missed dearly by those he met.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 30, 2017 at 11 am at Newcomer Funeral Home- South Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, OH 45439. Visitation will be from 10 am until the time of service. Burial will be in Miami Valley Memory Gardens.
