David E. Hamm passed away January 12, 2018. He was born on October 14, 1944 in Dayton, Kentucky to the late Joseph and Alene Hamm. He served in the U.S. Air Force from October 23, 1962 until his retirement on June 28, 1984. Dave was a Vietnam Veteran. He served as a Physician's Assistant in the Air Force and as a civilian. He was a member of Sulphur Grove UMC.
Dave was a train enthusiast and ensured his children and grandchildren had trains as newborns.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Linda; 2 daughters, Dawn (Mike) Williams of New Carlisle, Ohio and Denise (Justin) Vititoe of Zionsville, Indiana; 4 grandchildren, Justin, Alexa, Jackson and Johnathan; 2 brothers, Jim and Kenneth; 2 sisters, Betty and Linda, and numerous nieces who called him Mr. Wonderful, nephews, extended family and friends.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Joseph Jr, and one grandchild.

Visitation will take place from 5-8 PM on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd. Family will also receive friends from 11-11:30 AM on Thursday, January 18 at Sulphur Grove UMC, 7505 Taylorsville Rds., Huber Heights, Ohio where a funeral service will begin at 11:30 AM. Interment with military honors will follow the service at Dayton National Cemetery.
