Clara T. Hargis, age 89 of Waynesville, passed away Friday, January 1, 2021 at Quaker Heights Nursing Home. She was born April 4, 1931 in Somerset, Kentucky the daughter of the late Clarence and Pauline (Douglas) Hayre.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Lindsey Hargis; brother, Bill Hayre and granddaughter, Melissa DeHart.
Clara is survived by her children, Bill (Lucy) Hargis, Teri Hargis, Gary (Connie) Hargis and Donna Potter; grandchildren, Brent (Christie) Hargis, Denise (Abe) Lay, Brandy Bailey, Wes (Amanda) Bailey, Christina (Steve) Thomas, Tiffiany Hargis, Timothy Hargis, Christine Villarreal, Eric (Hannah) Villarreal, Eric Potter and Ryan Potter; great-grandchildren, Marly, Braden, Jacob, Tayla, Macie, Trenton, Alicia, Troy, Nick and Trevor; sister, Joyce Fitzgerald; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She enjoyed attending church services in Kentucky where she was a devoted member. Clara loved to cook, especially desserts. She liked traveling around to flea markets, garage sales, playing games and spending time with her family.
Family will receive friends Wednesday, January 6, 2021 from 3:00 PM until the time of her service at 4:00 PM at Newcomer Kettering Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, Ohio.
The State of Ohio is under a mandatory mask order and has required that face mask will be worn in all public places.
