Billie R. Abney, 81, of Centerville, Ohio went to heaven on December 12, 2020. We are joyful in sorrow that she no longer suffers with pain. Billie was born on September 5, 1939 in Estille Co. Kentucky to Beatrice and Ray Norris. She was preceded in death by her mother Beatrice Ross, father Ray Norris, step-father Marvin "Squirt" Ross and brothers Donald "Bud" Norris and Michael Ross. She is survived by her cherished husband of 63 years, Arthur L. Abney who she married on July 29, 1957 and her beloved children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great grand child and dedicated sister. Her children, Deby (Tony) Huey, Shirley (David) Gordon, and Beth (Ron) Hutson will forever cherish their mother for the many years of loving support and inspiration that she never failed to provide them. Billie held a very special place in her heart for her devoted and admiring grandchildren: Lisha (Shawn) Graham, Jennifer (Shaune) Wells, Andrew (Brooke) Hutson, Marc (Hayley) Hutson, and Brad Hutson. She was filled with delight at the additions of her great grandchildren: Austin, Chloe, Kaylah, Kirah, Tobin, Maren and Baby O, and newest great great grandson, Braxton. She also loved her baby sister Terri (Jim) May with much pride and affection.
Billie graduated from Patterson Co-Op in Dayton, Ohio in 1956. And later in life attended Pivot Point Beauty School in Dayton, Ohio in 1971, where she became a Licensed Managing Cosmetologist. After enjoying her career as a Cosmetologist, she took a few years off and started a second career as an office manager at Bright Eyes Optical where she loved meeting customers. She was a faithful member of Northridge Freewill Baptist Church, an avid reader and never missed an opportunity to hang out with her Crown Point Porch Club.
Most of all, Billie fully embraced her job of being a wife, mom and grandma. She never failed to be short of exemplary in those roles. Her appreciative family will never forget all she has lovingly done for them.
