Kevin Patrick Duffy

Dr. Kevin Patrick Duffy, age 66 of Miamisburg, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 23, 2023. He was born May 27, 1957 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the son of the late William and Agnes Duffy.

Kevin graduated with his Bachelor of Art degree in Literature from Eckerd University in 1978. He received a Master of Art degree in English Literature (1983) and Information Science (1992) from the University of Pittsburgh. He received his Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration, MIS from Florida State University in 2002.

Dr. Duffy has been an integral part of the Wright State University family since September 2004, contributing immensely to the university; leaving an indelible mark on the institution and the countless lives of students that he touched. He was recognized as an outstanding teacher numerous times over the course of his career. During his time, he showed unwavering dedication to his students and colleagues, always willing to share his knowledge and experiences.

Kevin is survived by his siblings, Robin Clark (Pat Ong), Thomas (Therese) Duffy, Kellan Mudryk, Paul (Ellen) Duffy; close friends and co-workers, Dr. Vikram (Bandini) Sethi and his children, Maia and Mira, and Susan Brixey; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as many friends and students.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Danelle Duffy.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Newcomer Centerville Chapel (820 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45459). Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 1, 2023 at 1:00 pm, also at the funeral home.
