Mark A. Hall

March 7, 1952 — June 17, 2023

Mark Anthony Hall, 71, of Huber Heights, OH passed away on June 17, 2023. Mark was born on March 7, 1952 in Dayton, OH. He was preceded in death by his father Estill Hall, Jr. and younger brother Steven Estill Hall.

Mark is survived by his wife Kathleen, mother Pauline and brother David (Karen) , son Greg (Kari), daughter Melissa and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Mark had many hobbies and interests throughout his life. As a child, he loved building and launching model rockets and astronomy, even building his own telescopes. Magic was a big part of his life, tricks and prestidigitation was shared at parties and with friends and family. In the magic world Mark was also known as Marcus the Magnificent. And that he was!

In the late 60's and early 70's, Mark was a cadet firefighter in high school with the Huber Heights (Wayne Township) volunteer department. He would later serve as a volunteer firefighter/EMT at various departments in the course of his life. While in failing health, Mark worked the Huber Heights EMT crews to near exhaustion providing them with many training opportunities and encouragement. (The family truly thanks them for all of their assistance and patience).

After high school Mark developed an interest in the FBI and latent finger prints, studying and learning the methods he applied to and was employed by the FBI in Washington DC. Later Mark returned to Ohio to work for the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation.

Mark enjoyed metal detecting with his brother Steven and was also a representative of the White's Metal Detector Company.

Mark was also a published writer, writing many stories for the children's magazine Cricket and other publications.

Mark will be deeply missed by his family and friends, and will be remembered as a man who lived a life of service and joy. May he rest in peace.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2023, 2:00 pm at the Huber Heights Church of God, 6900 Brandt Pike, Huber Heights, OH 45424, near the fire station where Mark trained while in high school.
