Deanna Renee Caldwell, age 57, of Dayton, OH, passed away on May 24th, 2023 in her sleep. She was born on April 10th, 1966 in Springfield, Ohio to James Chandler and Lenora Miller (nee Hill).
Those who knew her will remember the kindness and creativity that she carried throughout her life. Renee ran her own daycare business for over a decade, where she had the opportunity to make a positive impact on so many children. In some ways, she was more than a daycare provider; "Nay Nay" was a loving family member who treated the children as if they were her own. Renee loved to love people. She could be counted on to help in all situations-proof reading college essays and helping to make a birthday cakes, among many other tasks which were always brought up at the last minute. From perfectly themed birthday parties to fabulous vacations, Renee took every opportunity to mix her passion for the creative and extravagant with her love for her family and friends.
She was a talented artist and enthusiastic crafter; if there was an art or craft that existed, she wanted to try it! From hand-beading dresses to drawing and painting to writing to candle making, her interests ran the full spectrum, and she was so good at every one. Renee's love of art didn't stop at the art she herself created. She was a lover of music, attending concerts across the country (and sometimes outside of it) with her friends and family. Boy bands were her favorite, and Hanson, Backstreet Boys, and One Direction songs will forever remind us of her. Renee was an avid reader. Harry Potter and Twilight held her heart for years, but she also loved the works of Anne Rice and many a romance writer.
Renee was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Scott Caldwell. She leaves behind her five children: Erica (Phillip) DePasquale, Amber Smoot, Andrea (Reynaldo) Tercero, Autumn (Brandon) Howell, and Frankie Caldwell, as well as five grandchildren: Allie Tercero, Stephen Dexheimer, Savannah Howell, Athena Howell, and Ronan Howell. She is also survived by her brothers: Bill (Vicky) Harmon and Adam Harmon. Renee was loved and will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
