Wayne Anthony Rines, age 78, of Dayton, passed away on June 1, 2023. He was born in Portland, Maine, on July 21, 1944, the son of the late Ernest Rines and Lucinda Anthony, and was raised in Sebago Lake Village.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandchildren, Paul and Brittany; brothers, Arthur Rines and Ernest Kimball; and his beloved aunt and uncle, Nellie and Ray Wedge.
Wayne is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Barbara Ann Rines; children, Mark (Jennifer) Rines, Holly Rines, Chris (Tami) Rines and Stephanie (Timothy) Halcomb; grandchildren, Summer, Savannah, Tosh, Reid, Daniel, Megan, Cheyenne, Shelby, Ali, Austin, Madelynne, Braeden, Emersyn, Kerrigan, Hunter, Hannah, Hope, Gabrielle and Morgan; great grandchildren, Violet, Braelynn, Major, Theo, Wesley, Willow, Iris and Wrenley; sister, Rachel Wilson; sister-in-law, Lillian Rines; and many other loving family and friends.
He served his country proudly by serving in the Unites States Army during the Vietnam War. Wayne retired after many years as a Warehouse Manager. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, a variety of sports, and was a true believer in Bigfoot. He was a dedicated, supportive family man. Wayne touched many lives and will be greatly missed by many.
Visitation will be held from 11:30am-1:00pm, on Friday, June 16, 2023, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, where a Celebration of his Life will begin at 1:00pm, with Harry "Rick" Tullis officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Dayton.
