Edward Rogers, age 66, of Kettering, Ohio, passed away on December 26, 2022. Ed was born on March 14, 1956, in Dayton, Ohio to Roselee Shelton and the late Robert Rogers.
In addition to his father, Ed is preceded in death by his sister Debbie Dailey (Donald Dailey), brother Mike Rogers, and nephew James Rogers (Loretta).
Ed is survived by his mother – Roselee Shelton, his children - Tracy Huntsman (Cliff Huntsman), Eddie Rogers, Sam Rogers, Jessica Rogers (Bill Hodge), and Brandie Stanfill (Beau Stanfill), siblings – Bobby Rogers (Libby), Ben Rogers (Judy), Danny Rogers (Chrissy), John Rogers, Richard Rogers (Gloria), Randy Rogers (Vickie), and Joy Burton (Rob Burton). Ed is also survived by multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Ed was devoted to God as a Jehovah's Witness. He was previously employed by Rush Transportation. Ed had lots of style and was incredibly creative, he enjoyed drawing, writing, and painting. He loved driving his semi-truck, playing the guitar, and Marilyn Monroe. Ed was extremely funny and had the most giving heart, he thrived on making a positive impact on anyone who was down. Ed cared most for his family and dog Otis. Ed is greatly loved and will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.
In lieu of flowers or contributions, the family has requested monetary donations towards a "Rogers" family memorial bench to utilize while paying respects to any Rogers family at the cemetery. Please see Beau Stanfill during the services at Newcomer South.
The memorial for Ed will be held at 5:30 PM on January 20th, 2023, to be officiated by Donald Dailey. The visitation will begin at 4:00 pm until the time of service, at the Newcomer Funeral Home-South Chapel located at 3940 Kettering Blvd. Kettering, Ohio 45439.
Ed will be laid to rest at Dayton Memorial Park and Cemetery and Mausoleum, located at 8135 N. Dixie Dr., Dayton, Oh 45414 on his birthday on March 14th, 2023, at 1:00 pm.
