Joann Simpson

Joann Mae Simpson, age 91, of Dayton, passed away May 24, 2022. She was born April 30, 1931 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Verlin and Josie Townsend. In addition to her parents, Joann was preceded in death by her son, David Ruble; and brother, Bob Giesseman.

Joann is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: John and Sheri Simpson; grandchildren: Dennis Holland (Stacy), David Ruble, Jr., Shannon Simpson (Dr. Ethan Smith) and Jason Simpson (Stephanie); and 5 great-grandchildren.

Joann was a lifelong member of the Brethren in Christ Church, where she held the record for the longest perfect attendance. She retired from Superior Abrasives after many years of service. Joann enjoyed gardening and working jigsaw puzzles with everyone who came to visit her.

Visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 am on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, where the funeral service will begin at 10:30 am. Burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Englewood. Contributions may be made in Joann's memory to the Hospice of Dayton.
