Norman L. Wentland, age 75, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home with his family on March 31, 2022. He was born on February 24, 1947 in South Bend, Indiana, to the late Joseph and Rose Wentland. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Ken Wentland.
Norman is survived by his wife of 50 years Janet A. Wentland; their daughters Emily (Dave) Price, Allison Wentland, and Kathryn (Brian) Oakes; sisters Karen Wentland and Nancy (Mark) McFarland; grandchildren Hannah, Dylan, Lauren, and Gretchen, each of which were his favorite.
Norman received his bachelor's degree from Purdue University, and went on to receive Master's degrees from Dartmouth University and Wright State University. He then started his own company, Digital Development Corporation (DDC), in 1983. DDC grew with the changing technologies along with business partner of 25 years John Rawlins.
Norman enjoyed family dinners with a good glass of Cabernet, where he could catch up around the fire pit. He was a lifelong learner who would immerse himself in any experience and new technology. Norman was a man of few words, and he was very intentional and thoughtful with his actions. He was a dedicated family man who was very loved and will be missed and remembered for his quirks.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 PM on Friday, April 8, 2022 at Newcomer in Kettering, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Norman's love of his wife to Alzheimer's Association
