Jessie Mae "Joann" Pennington, age 91, of Vandalia, passed away on January 2, 2022, at her residence with her loving family by her side. She was born in Portsmouth, Ohio, on October 22, 1930, the daughter of the late Willard and Audrey Richmond.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 67 years, Dock Pennington; her infant daughter, Dena Pennington; and her siblings, Hershel Cook, Donna Phelps, Tessa Houston, Harley Richmond, Hazel Shope, James Richmond, Gertie Payton and Elvie Richmond.
Jessie is survived by her loving children, Michael (Lisa) Pennington and Verna (the late Pete) Pietrzak; grandchildren, Michael Pennington, Jr., Adam Pietrzak, Sarah Siracusa and C.J. Pennington; great- grandchildren, Ashley Pietrzak, Natalie Pietrzak, Marek Pietrzak, Stella Siracusa, Oliver Pennington, Luna Siracusa and Archie Pennington; sister, Norma Jean Helton; her dear friends, Carolyn and Ralph Baker; and many other loving family and friends.
She was a member of Northridge Freewill Baptist Church for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed word search puzzles, jigsaw puzzles and spending time with her great-grandbabies. Jessie was a very devoted mother and grandmother, she was always there for those she loved. She will be greatly missed by everyone.
Graveside Services will be held at 11:00am, on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at Willow View Cemetery, 2500 Neff Rd., Dayton, with Pastor Tim Hamilton officiating.
