Wayne D. Dezarn, age 73 of Huber Heights, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 16, 2021. He was born November 12, 1948 in Manchester, Kentucky to the late Glenn and Toulene Dezarn.
Wayne was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He proudly served his county in the U.S. Air Force as a security police officer during the Vietnam War and retired from the Air Force after 20 years. He also served his country as a contractor in Afghanistan and Iraq. Upon his retirement, Wayne worked as a Corrections Training Officer for the State of Ohio. He served as police officer for a total of 30 years.
Wayne loved to fish and watch basketball, especially the University of Kentucky. He also loved his vehicles- detailing them and attending auto shows. He spent the most time with his beloved truck "Old Yeller". Wayne was a devoted family man and loyal friend, and will be missed by many who knew him as family and a friend.
Wayne will be missed by his loving wife of almost 27 years, Nanette Fry Dezarn; daughters, Aimee (Rob) Young and Melissa (Jody) Sparks; son, Christopher (Deanna) Dezarn; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two brothers, Atwood (Charlene) Dezarn and David (Marge) Dezarn; two sisters, Donna Brewer and Olivia Dezarn; best friend who was more like a son, Mike Helton; sister-in-law, Debbie McPeak; brother-in-law, Mike McPeak; plus many other family and friends across the World.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2021 from 5-8 p.m. at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, where the funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Burial Dayton National Cemetery with full military honors. Family requests everyone in attendance wear a mask.
