Bobby Jean Smith

Bobby Jean Smith, age 90, of Dayton, passed away on December 12, 2021. He was born in Fitchburg , Kentucky, on September 4, 1931, the son of the late Raymond and Sarah Smyth.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Treva Shroyer; sisters, Faye and Noralee; and his step-son, Jeffrey Tipton.

Bobby is survived by his beloved wife, Loretta Mae Smith; son, Bobby Shroyer; step-children, Deborah (Val) Tipton, Brenda (the late Jim) Witwer and Jimmie (Donna) Tipton; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Buddy Joe Smyth; his dog Bear; and many other loving family and friends.

He served his country proudly by serving in the United States Air Force, during the Korean War. Bobby had worked for many years as a Supervisor with a Yacht Building Company in Florida. He was a member of the Northridge Freewill Baptist Church for many years.

Visitation will be held from 12:00pm-1:00pm, on Monday, December 20, 2021, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, where Funeral Services will begin at 1:00pm with Pastor Tim Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City.
