Billy Louis Hicks, age 65, of Kettering, passed away unexpectedly on November 6, 2021.
He was born August 21, 1956 in Dayton, Ohio to Bill and Janet (Moore) Hicks. Billy was a proud graduate of Fairmont East High School, Class of 1975. He had a profession in customer service at Victoria's Secret Direct and Time Warner, and enjoyed putting a smile on everyone's face. Billy was also a Volunteer Firefighter for the city of Kettering, Station 4, for many years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Hicks in 1987. Billy is survived by his wife of 39 years, Lisa Hicks; his children, Darrell Hicks, Sr., William Joseph Hicks and wife Lisa, Jesse Hicks, Heather Mays and husband Tony, Jeffrey Hicks and wife Jessica; grandchildren, Darrell Jr., Brandon, Calista, Jordyn, Ethan, Evan, Shelby, Ehan, Jacob, Harper, and James; great-granddaughter, Bonnie Jo; his mother, Janet Hicks; his brother, Larry Hicks and wife Melissa, and cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Billy never knew a stranger and enjoyed making others laugh. He had a big personality, he always had a smile on his face and a story to share. If you were ever worried about him being quiet it's because the "Dad jokes" were loading. Billy was so proud of all of his kids and grandkids. He leaves a legacy of love, laughter and precious memories.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021 from 12:00pm-2:00pm, at the Bible Baptist Church, 1944 Meriline Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45410. Afterwards, there will be tables reserved at the Marion's Piazza, at Town and Country Shopping Center, 50 E. Stroop Road, Kettering, Ohio 45429, for anyone who would like to meet.
