Carol Sue Oakley

Carol Sue Oakley, age 70, of Medway, passed away on October 1, 2021. She was born in Berea , Kentucky, on November 4, 1950, the daughter of the late Leslie and Floria (Bowman) Gabbard.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers, William Gabbard and David H. Gabbard.

Carol is survived by her husband, James Oscar Oakley, Sr.; her children, Carol (Rob) Williams of Huber Heights, David (Corica) Gordon of Middletown, Denise (Thomas, Jr.) Fugitt of Chatroy, WV and Jimmy Oakley, II, of Huber Heights; 16 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; siblings, Faye Martin, Randy Gabbard and Rex Gabbard; and many other loving family and friends.

In her free time, she adored her time with her family and her two cats, who were her "furbabies". She had another cat, Toby, who passed away a few years ago, that she loved and missed dearly. Carol was a great mother and wife. She will be dearly missed by her family.

The family would like to extend a special "Thank You", to the staff of Hospice of Dayton and her grandson, Brian Williams, for the wonderful care she received during her short stay at hospice.

Visitation will be held from 12:00pm-1:00pm, on Monday, October 11, 2021, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, where Funeral Services will begin at 1:00pm. Burial will follow at Willow View Cemetery.
