Helena Mcconnell

Helen "Lena" McConnell was born October 19, 1980, to Janet McConnell and Harry Suggs in Dayton, Ohio. She has resided in Dayton since birth. Helena attended Jefferson Township Schools and Trotwood Madison Schools. She furthered her education graduating from Caplin College in 2009 with a degree in Criminal Justice. Helena spent the majority of her employment years at three main companies. DMAX in Moraine, The Pub at the Green, and Crackle Barrel as a cook.

Helena departed this life unexpectedly on Sunday September 19, 2021. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Clyde and Helen McConnel, her Mother Janet McConnell, and cousin (sister) Terri Taylor.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her son Dablo Mikel McConnell, grandson Kingston McConnell, daughter-sister Ashanti McConnell, life partner Anita Johnson, Aunt-Mom Rita McConnell, Aunt-Mom Karen McConnell, God children, Terrion Taylor, Rayonna Afzol, DeAnthony Uloho, Daivion Thaler, Daishawn Thaler, Destiny Thaler, Dynasty Bass. Siblings: Shani McConnell, Shari McConnell Hoosier (Pierre) Phillip McConnell and a host of other relatives.

Helena was a gentle spirit with love and an open heart for all she met. She was the life of the party with a positive attitude and her presence in the room would change the atmosphere. No matter the circumstances she always made the best out of all situations and encouraged us to do the same.

Visitation will be held from 9:30am-10:30am, on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd. Dayton, where services will begin at 10:30am.
