John "Darrin" Frizell, age 50 of Arcanum, OH, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, September 21, 2021, in Dayton. He was born January 4, 1971 in Dayton, OH to John and Suzanne Frizell.
Left to cherish Darrin's memory are his loving wife, Twilla Frizell; son, Connor Frizell; daughter, Aliviah Frizell; sister, Jodi (Brian) McHargue; parents: John and Suzanne Frizell; maternal grandmother, Betty Mains; bonus children: Tara (Will) Young, Chantell (Adam) Simpson, Ty (Megan) Simpson, and Johnny (Katie) Simpson; grandchildren: children: Kolston, Emery, Miles, Paisley, Easton, Ivy, Charlie, and Scarlet; numerous nieces and nephews; and several other relatives and friends.
Darrin grew up in Beavercreek, OH. He was a 1989 graduate of Beavercreek High School. Darrin was a big kid at heart with a zest for life. He was a consummate Dodgers fan, who would watch every game that he could; cheering for them in his living room if he could not attend the games in person. Darrin was an avid Star Wars fanatic. He derived much joy in collecting Star Wars figures and memorabilia. He loved to play lottery, optimistically scratching off his tickets in hopes of winning big! Darrin was a professional referee with the USA Volleyball National Referee and Beach National Referee, and the Professional Association of Volleyball Officials, and State Referee and National Line Judge. When he was not acting as a volleyball referee, he was playing the game. Most of all, Darrin enjoyed spending time with his family.
Darrin was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Frizell, paternal grandparents: John and Ruth Frizell; maternal grandfather, Robert Mains; and uncle, Rob Mains.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 28, 2021 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home - Beavercreek Chapel (3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek) where a funeral service celebrating Darrin's life will follow at 6:00 p.m.
