James D. Taylor, age 87 of Beavercreek, OH went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 2, 2021 at his home surrounded by family. He was born March 26, 1934 in Kennett, Missouri to Zenis and Molly (McCain) Taylor. James married Norma Brown on April 18, 1958 in Kennett, MO.
Jim graduated from Kennett High School in Missouri and from Park State in Arkansas with a degree in Psychology. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force after serving 22 years. After the Air Force and college, he worked as a Social Worker for the State of Missouri for 17 years. He was a member of Kettering First Baptist Church where he was a Deacon and a Sunday School Teacher. Jim enjoyed fishing, was a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and volunteered at the Air Force Museum with Norma for many years. He loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed by all.
Jim is survived by his wife of 63 years, Norma; a daughter, Connie (Tom) Di Nino; a son, James Michael Taylor; three grandchildren, Elizabeth (Brad) Schroeder, John (Jenn) Di Nino and TJ (Jackie) Di Nino; five great grandchildren, Ethan and Alex Schroeder, Hayden Di Nino, and Calvin and Sammy Di Nino; and other numerous family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Wayne Taylor; and a sister, Janie Locke.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jim's name can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 from 3:00 to 4:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. Funeral Services will follow the visitation at 4:00 pm at the funeral home. Jim will be laid to rest with full military honors at Dayton National Cemetery at a later date.
