Eugene Craig

Eugene Craig, "Apple Jack", age 71, born February 17, 1950, passed away suddenly on May 10, 2021. He graduated from Wenonah High School in 1968.

Eugene was born in Selma, Alabama, but was raised in Birmingham, Alabama. Even though Eugene and his family relocated to Dayton, Ohio in 1993, he never forgot his southern roots. It was not uncommon to see him sitting outside under a shade tree, barbecuing ribs, to go along with the collard greens, cornbread, and macaroni and cheese that he loved to eat.

Eugene was also known as "Apt" to many of his friends and family. He was a loving, kind, and caring husband and father. He dedicated his life as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on November 15, 2014 and was very committed to helping others learn about the Bible. His smile and laugh were very infectious, and he never met a stranger. He loved to joke around, watch the Boston Celtics, and cheer on the Alabama Crimson Tide football team (Roll Tide!)
He was preceded in death by parents Louis Craig Sr. and Ida Mae Craig, and brother Louis Craig Jr.

Eugene leaves to cherish his beautiful memories with his wife of 47 years, Juanita Lee Craig; two daughters, Tracey Denise Craig and Tiffany Nicole Craig; two brothers, Eric (Diannettia Johnson) Craig, Ronald (Reco) Craig; special in-laws Novella Henderson, Johnny Lee, and Peggy Lee; special friends Jerome "Jake" Rowser, Gary Shaw, Will Ringfield, Robert Morton, and Roger Evans. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30am in-person at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd. Dayton OH 45424 and streaming for out-of-town guests through RingCentral. The Streaming information is as follows:
