Lonnie Roy Pence, age 89, of Dayton, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2021 at the Hospice of Dayton. He was born December 9, 1931 in Wolfe County, Kentucky the son of the late Morton James and Lillie (Hollon) Pence.
He retired from James Rivers Specialty Papers after over 40 years of dedicated service. Lonnie enjoyed spending many wonderful years with his wife, Betty in Sebring, Florida. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish, garden and hunt in his spare time. Lonnie liked to socialize and was a member of Vandalia Senior Center and the Troy Fish and Game Club.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Betty Pence; 7 sister and 2 brothers.
Lonnie is survived by his children, Cindy (Eddie) Howard, James (Sharon) Pence, Michael Scott (Lindy) Pence and Gina (Joseph) Courts; 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Family will receive friends on from 10:00-11:00 AM on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, where his funeral will take place at 11:00 AM. Burial next to his wife, Betty will follow at Dayton Memorial Park.
