John Kenneth Shade
September 9, 1935 — December 3, 2020
John Kenneth "Ken" Shade I, born September 9, 1935, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2020. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Shade; and two sisters, Rosella Combs and Emma Guild.
Ken is survived in death by his wife of 58 years, Rita (Zimmer) Shade; two daughters, Kim Trapp and Jody (Glen) Thacker; one son, John (Barb) Shade II; five grandchildren, Amber (Mike) Marks, Aaron (Keri) Thacker, Nikki (Jonny) Nemeth, Nicolas Shade and Jon (Kelsey) Trapp; three great grandchildren, Gabe & Gideon Marks and Gracie Shade; one sister, Vera Winchek; and one brother, Ray (Carla) Shade.
Ken was proud to serve his country as a part of the United States Army and 2 years in the Navy Reserves. He took pride in his work and family. A simple man, Ken made friends wherever he went and was loved by all. He will be truly missed and always loved. The world is a better place because he was in it.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to his family.
Private Graveside Services will be held with the family at Dayton National Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio.
