Thomas Holloway, age 73 of Dayton, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2020 at his home. He was born April 22, 1947 in Hazelhurst, Mississippi the son of Elzo Holloway and Amelia Holloway-Ball.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elzo Holloway; mother, Amelia Holloway-Ball, step-father, George Ball and sister, Geneva Anderson.
Thomas is survived by the love of his life, Vanessa Sanford and her son, Andrew Sanford; siblings, Curtis Holloway (Joyce Chandler), Anthony Ball, Joann Yates, Myrtis Ann Ball, Robin Ball and Rhonda (Phil) Ball; special aunt, Geneva Blackwell of Hazelhurst, Mississippi; devoted cousin, Elsie Mahoney and special cousin and friend, Robert Chase; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Thomas attended Dunbar High School and proudly served his country as an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired from St. Leonard Nursing and Assisted Living Communities. He loved to listen to the Blues. Thomas was outgoing and enjoyed talking to family, friends and even strangers. He will be truly missed by Vanessa, his family and friends.
A walk through visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Newcomer Kettering Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, Ohio 45439. Private family graveside service will be held at Dayton National Cemetery.
