Mona Stone, age 83, of Dayton, OH, passed away Friday, September 4, 2020. Mona was born on February 22, 1937 in Dayton, OH. Mona enjoyed her flower gardens, hummingbirds and her beloved pets, Sadie, Scooter and Goldie. She also loved spending time with her family. Mona was employed by DESC and Bethany Lutheran Village, amongst others. When her job relocated to Columbus, Mona moved to continue working towards retirement. At DESC, she met Richard C. Stone. They married, bought a home and both retired on the same day. They spent 19 years enjoying their lives together.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Nola and Eugene Knoll; husband, Richard C. Stone; and granddaughters, Lindsey Stanley and Sherri Jordan.
Mona is survived by her five children, Ann Lewis (Oscar), Isaac Stanley Jr. (Melanie), Paul Stanley, Jeannie Jordan (Paul), Bonnie Sine (Ric); grandchildren, Craig Lewis (Michelle), Rachel Apling (Jay), Stefanie Dahlin (Scott), Brandon Stanley, Heather Mautz (Stephen), Megan Tousignant (Shawn); great grandchildren, Casey and Caleb Lewis, Nora Apling, Luke and Emma Dahlin, and Xander, Sebastian and Corbin Tousignant. She is also survived by her cherished sister, Pauline Sears; as well as many loving nieces, nephews and dear friends, including Bonnie Fulton, Sandy Hodak and Colleen Rice.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 from 10:00am to 11:00am at Newcomer North Chapel (4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, OH 45424). Funeral service will begin at 11:00am. Burial will follow in Royal Oak Memorial Gardens in Brookville, OH.
