Carolyn Sue Young

Carolyn Sue Young, age 77, of Miami Twp., went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 17, 2020. Carolyn was born October 5, 1942 in Maineville, OH to the late Arthur & Alberta Gessner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Ronald and Charles Gessner.

Carolyn is survived by her children, David Young and Melinda Carberry; grandchildren, Joshua Chitwood and Mekala Carberry; sister, Linda (Rodney Jewett) Jones; nieces and nephew, Pam, Rob, Karen and Robin; beloved dog, Sadie and many other relatives and friends.

Carolyn graduated from Centerville H.S. in 1960, and then went onto cosmetology school and cut hair for a few years before starting a family. Carolyn retired from JCPenny's after 20 plus years of service. She was a devoted member of Washington Heights Baptist Church. Carolyn loved to spend time with her grandkids and friends. She was a beloved sister. Carolyn was always smiling and sending cards of well wishes and positive thoughts to the people she cared about. She always tried to find the good in everything. Carolyn will be dearly missed.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 24, 2020 from 9:30-10:30 am at Newcomer Funeral Home Kettering Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439. The service will follow at 10:30 am. Carolyn will be laid to rest at David's Cemetery.
