Karen Lee Grooms, age 70 of Fairborn, OH passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at home surrounded by her family. She was born on March 29, 1950 in Dayton, Ohio to Edgar Mays and Helen Brooks. Karen Married Dennis Grooms on December 31, 1971 in Dayton, OH.
Karen graduated from Stebbins High School in 1968. She has always been a very hard worker and spent 30 years as a Vet Technician at Airway Clinic in Beavercreek. Karen loved to read, watching war movies and crime shows and enjoyed the color by number books. She most enjoyed spending time with her family and friends whenever she could. Karen was a compassionate and caring person who accepted anyone who came into her life. She was loved by everyone who knew her and was everyone's Mom and best friend. Karen loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed by all.
Karen is survived by her five daughters, Tanya Grooms, Tammy Grooms, Kelli (Danny) Aldrich, Jodi Grooms and Amber Riggsby; four grandchildren, Taylor (Jonathon) Grooms, D.J. Grooms, Adriana and Kaiden Aldrich; two great grandchildren, Layni and Kaicyn; a brother, Mike (Roxanne) Mays; along with nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Dennis Grooms; her parents.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2020 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will be at Byron Cemetery, Fairborn, OH.
