Grady L. Banner, Jr. "Bumpy", age 74, of Riverside, Ohio, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2020. He was born September 21, 1945 in Winston Salem, North Carolina to the late Grady, Sr. and Helen Banner.
Grady was a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he graduated from West Philadelphia High School and attended Temple University. Starting out as an entrepreneur, he relocated from Philadelphia to Ohio. He retired from Heidelberg Distributers after 38 years of service.
In addition to his parents, Grady Jr. was preceded in death by his siblings, Garnett and Geraldo.
Grady will be missed by his loving wife, Helen; children, Traci (Russell), Devette (Robert), Germaine (Wilbert), Lisa, and Robin (Steve); siblings, Gradette (Carlton), Gawain, Gwenevere (Edward), Godfrey, and Giselle (Dwayne) and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A public visitation will be held Wednesday, July 15, 2020 from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton. Due to COVID-19, the memorial service at 1:30 p.m. will be private for immediate family only. There will be no virtual viewing. Burial will be held at a later date at Valley View Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Grady's memory to Vitas Hospice.
