Mory Summer, M.D., age 90 of Clayton, Ohio, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2020. He was born November 20, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Ben and Eva Summer.
Mory served as a Captain and physician in the U.S.A.F. In his early years, Mory worked as a pharmacist. He retired as a General Practitioner and worked for Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton for 40 years as well as in private practice. Mory loved the work that he did and his patients.
Mory was a special man with many interests. He liked to bake, cook, eat desserts, and collect cookbooks. He was health orientated and would exercise every day. Mory liked to dance and be out and about, watch TV and tell jokes. He liked to shop at thrift stores and garage sales. Mory was a very generous and caring man and will be dearly missed by everyone whose lives he has touched.
In addition to his parents, Mory was preceded in death by his first wife, Ghita; son, Danny Summer and brother, Edward Summer.
Mory will be missed by his loving wife, Reba; daughter, Jennifer Summer; stepchildren, Dallas McCarroll and James Woolery; daughter-in-law, Chandelle Summer; grandchildren, Georgia, Jeffrey, Jake, Jack and Joey; and Josh and Sam; step-grandchildren, Nathaniel McCarroll, Jenny Marentette and Cody Woolery; sister, Shirley Riddle; many sisters and brothers-in-law including special sisters-in-law, Treba (John) Burkhardt and Cindy (Ron) Sprenkel; many nieces and nephews; special friend, Dr. Charles (Karen) Zeller; and lots of family and friends.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, June 23, 2020 from 6 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7 p.m. at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Alta Vista Cemetery, Gainsville, Georgia.
