John David Harmon, "J.D." age 90, of Miamisburg, Ohio went home to be with his Lord Tuesday, March 24, 2020.
He was born August 24, 1929 in Beech Mountain, North Carolina, the son of the late Roosevelt W. and Mary L. (Crawford) Harmon.
John was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Catherine J. Harmon, who passed in 2019, Son, Darryl L. Harmon, who passed 2017, a brother, Celmer D. Harmon. John worked on his family's farm with his parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
In 1948 John came to Dayton, Ohio and was hired by General Motors, working for Fridgidaire and later Harrison. John and Catherine married August 27, 1949 and were blessed with 69 years together and three children. In 1951 John gave his heart and life to God the Father. He loved to hunt, fish and travel, taking every opportunity to share his testimony of what God had done in his life. Through his faithfulness as a disciple of Christ and his powerful testimony many came to know Christ as their personal savior. John raised hunting dogs, made fishing lures and grew an amazing garden. He loved God and his church and watching his family grow.
John is survived by his daughter Gwendolyn (Roger) Bryant of Miamisburg,Ohio, Milton (Debra) Harmon of LaFayette, Georgia, 9 Grandchildren, Richard (Holly) Harmon of Miamisburg, Ohio, Angela (William) Brazelton of Wilmington, Ohio, Benjamin (Allyssa) Bryant of Nobelsville, In, Adam (Alexandra) Bryant of Miamisburg, Ohio, Elizabeth (Ryan) Bruner of Dayton, Ohio, Robert (Tammy) Harmon of Carlisle, Ohio, Ryan (Jo Murrell) Harmon of Knoxville, Tn, Lauren (Joshua) Cannon of Hill AFB, Utah, Shelby (Grant) Carpenter of Dyess AFB, Texas: 17 Great Grand children: 2 Great Great grand children.
