Ronald M. Cameron, age 93 of Dayton, OH, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2020. He was born April 23, 1926 in Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, to Colin and Annie (Geddes) Cameron.
He is survived by his children, Ronald, Margaret, Colin, Gordon, Jennifer, and Heather; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife of 70 years, Janet.
Ronald was a World War II veteran who served in the British Royal Pioneer Corps. Prior to entering the military, he was a deep sea fisherman in the North Sea of Scotland aboard the "Ocean Lover". Ronald was a colorful story teller who was loved by everyone who knew him, and was often described as "The greatest man I ever knew". He showed bravery, strength, kindness and generosity throughout his life. Ronald loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed by all. We love you, we miss you, and you will always be in our hearts. Fer yer nay awa ta bide awa.
Private services will be held at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, Beavercreek Chapel, Beavercreek, OH with burial to follow at Woodland Cemetery, Dayton, OH. A Memorial Service for Ronald will be held at a later date for extended family and friends.
