Larry D. Kilgore of Centerville, OH passed away on March 14, 2020 at the age of 71. He was born August 9, 1948 in West Liberty, Kentucky to the late Oma Lee Kilgore and Edward L. Kilgore.
Larry graduated from Northmont High School in 1966 and joined the United States Army in 1968, where he served in the Vietnam War and was based in Stuttgart, Germany. He retired from General Motors after 33 years and became a successful Auto Broker in the Dayton area.
Larry is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart, Peggy Kilgore, with whom he was married nearly 50 years. He is also survived by his daughter, Tiffany Kilgore; brother Steve Kilgore and wife Terrie Kilgore; brother Jerry Kilgore and wife Diane Kilgore; sister Judy Hickman and husband Spike Hickman; father-in-law Dennis Murphy; brother-in-law Mark Loos and partner Beth McKeever; close friend Trellis Grubbs; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncle and many dear friends.
Larry was a devoted husband, father and brother and he touched the lives of both family and friends with his natural charisma and genuine heart. He grew up around cars and his love for them generated his entire career, strengthening the bond with his brothers and expanding into a larger network of lifelong friends and colleagues. Larry was a faithful servant of God, teaching His lessons every Sunday at New Testament Baptist Church in Brookville, OH. He loved his Country, a strong cup of coffee, political debate, playing golf and watching car races.
Larry is preceded in death by both his parents; his sister, Sue Booth; his brother, Ron Kilgore and his mother-in-law, Joan Murphy.
The visitation will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2020 from 12pm-2pm at New Testament Baptist Church, 127 Market St, Brookville, OH 45309. A service will follow at 2:00 pm at the church officiated by Jon Hartman and Warren Hartman.
Interment with military honors will be at Royal Oak Memorial Gardens.
