Robert "Bob" Edward Dell was born January 22, 1937 in Washington County, Georgia to Raymond and Naomi Dell. At a young age his parents moved, along with Bob, his older brother Jimmy, and little sister Edna, to Philadelphia where he was educated in the Philadelphia school system. He graduated from Dobbins Vocational School in 1955 where he learned a woodworking skill which he used for the rest of his life.
On January 14, 1961, he married the love of his life, Jacquelyn Brown from Miami, FL. In December, Chrystal Lynn and on October 22, 1968, Robert "Robbie" Edward were born completing their loving circle of joy and happiness. Bob was now more than a loving husband but a caring father as well.
In April 1964, he started working at Kettering Hospital as a surgery orderly and scheduler soon moving up to Patient Registration Supervisor and in 1994, Bob retired as Vice President of Human Resources capping off a notable career. In addition, he served as President of the Kettering-Fairmont Lions Club. He also donated countless units of blood helping to save lives.
One of his passions was leading people to Jesus Christ, either as a colporteur at a young age selling religious books and passing out literature or in the Prison Ministry at Centerville Seventh Day Adventist Church. Bob also enjoyed traveling, working in the yard, and helping Jackie in the garden.
Bob is survived and mourned by his beautiful wife of 59 years Jackie, his daughter Chrystal, his sister Edna Williamson (Jimmy), sister-in-law Phyllis, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Naomi Dell, his brother James Dell, and his son Robert E. Dell II.
Family will receive friends from 5-8 PM on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Newcomer Centerville Chapel (820 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd., Dayton, OH 45459).
A private service and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
