Dr. Lina Luna, age 80 of Centerville, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Miami Valley Hospital South. She was born September 23, 1939 in Lucena City, Philippines, the daughter of the late Tomas and Carmen Delica.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Reynaldo Delica.
Lina is survived by her husband of 49 years, Jose; children, Joy (Carmelo) Delgado, Geraldine (Rainier) Villapena-Cid, Eric (Sheila) Luna, Carolyn (Henry) Abante, Amabelle (Ramir) Cruz, Mildred (Alain) Ngaosi, Jamela (Paul) San Diego, Raymund (Marla) Villapena, Jeremy De Mesa, Lhea Luna, Arlette (Rodel), Antonette, Analyn and Jojo Evangelista; sister, Leticia Villapena; brother, Jessie De Mesa; sister-in-law, Norma Delica; grandchildren, EJ Luna and Justine Luna, Sean Delica, CJ and Miguel Delgado, Gelo Cruz, Yannah, Mae and AJ Ngaosi, Sarah and Katie, Ria Villapena, Angelina, Lorenzo Abante and Gavin, Gari and Nia San Diego and Ardel Villegas; as well as numerous other relatives and many friends.
Lina retired from the Dayton VA Medical Center after 25 years as a physician.
Lina was a loving and devoted wife and best friend to Jose. She was the definition of how it is to be a mother, of generosity and of unconditional love - if she can give herself, she will do it. She was always ready to forgive and let go. Lina's grandchildren were so precious to her and she enjoyed spoiling them. She was very loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
She was a devout Catholic and trusted her life in the Lord.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2020 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Newcomer Centerville Chapel (820 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45459). A Catholic Mass will follow at 11:30 am at Church of the Incarnation (55 Williamsburg Lane, Dayton, OH 45459).
