James Daniel Combs

COMBS, James Daniel "Dan", 73, of Phillipsburg, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2020 at Hospice of Dayton with his family at his side. Dan was born on January 13, 1947 to Beecher and Mattie (Dietz) Combs who precede him in death also preceding him are 4 sisters, Bobbi Wynne, Charlene Marriott, Laquatta "Kaye" Muncy, Merilyn Lyons; brothers-in-law Clem Lokai and Joe Lokai, sisters-in-law Ginny Woerner and Kitty Lokai.

Dan leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 53 years, Mary (Lokai) Combs, three sons and two daughters-in-law, Brian (Kelly) Combs, Greg Combs, Steve (Nicki) Combs; 7 grandchildren, Amanda (Kacy) Martin, Ryan (Khrista) Combs, Matt (Gabbi) Combs, Mikala (Austin) Florence, Jena (Braden) Stookey, Logan (Cory) Douglas, Tyler Combs, 8 great-grandchildren; sister Connie Denney. Also surviving are brothers-in-law John (Pat) Lokai, Paul (Kathy) Lokai, Tom Woerner, sister-in-law Sharon Lokai, numerous nieces and nephews, "work son" Doug Brush.

Dan worked at various auto dealerships in the Dayton area, the last was Voss Hyundai. He enjoyed working on automobiles and playing with computers. His most enjoyable times were spent with his three sons taking long motorcycle rides. Dan's family would like to thank all of the nurses and staff at Hospice of Dayton for their attentive care and support.

There will be a gathering of family and friends Friday, February 21, 2020 at NEWCOMER CREMATIONS, FUNERALS & RECEPTIONS, Dayton North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
