Donna Jeanne Jones, age 68 of Dayton, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2020 at Miami Valley Hospital. She was born October 2, 1951 in Kettering, Ohio the daughter of the late George and Barbara Smith.
In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Dexter Jones; a son, Brian Jones and grandson, Caleb Scudder.
Donna is survived by children, J.D. (Kelli) Scudder, Chad (Paige) Aydelott and Angela (Garrett) Sayers; grandchildren, Nissa, Nick, Mason, Ben and Michael; a sister, Jodie (Gary) Schweickart and daughter-in-law, Lori Jones as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
Donna was a 1969 graduate of Fairmont East High School and work in customer service for her entire working career including as a cashier with Wal-Mart for the last 5 years. She was a natural nurturer and loving individual that never met a stranger always giving more of herself than she ever asked of anyone else. Donna was an animal advocate, avid reader, enjoyed kayaking, spending time with family and caring for her pets.
Family will host a celebration of life later this year to honor her wishes. The family requests the gesture of pet adoption from a local shelter instead of any monetary donation in memory of Donna.
