Brett Anthony Newman, age 57, of Mansfield, OH passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on January 1, 2020 at James Cancer Center in Columbus, OH. Brett was born on October 31, 1962 in Springfield, OH. He was the son of Paul and Mary (Graeber) Newman.
Brett was a 10 year veteran of the United States Army. In his spare time, Brett enjoyed the excitement of watching Ohio State and Cincinnati Bengal's football, playing golf and riding his motorcycle. He also would spend hours playing with his collection of remote control cars, BB guns, playing PS-4 video games and working-out. However, Brett's true joy was his family and spending time with his fiancé, Sophie, and pet dogs Buckeye and Stubbs.
Brett leaves behind a living legacy consisting of his identical twin brother, Bart (Christina) Newman of Springboro, OH; fiancé, Sophie Geary of Mansfield OH; step-mother, Marsha Newman of Springfield, OH; step-sisters, Brenda (Derek) Brutchey of Mansfield, OH, Shelia Carroll of Mansfield, OH, Erika (Nelson) White of Grove City, OH and Dawn (Rob) Skeens of Columbus, OH; step-brother, Shawn (Krista) Newman of Richmond, IN; favorite pet dogs and companions, Buckeye and Stubbs; and several nieces, nephews and several close friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Newman; mother, Mary Elizabeth Graeber; and brother, Brian T. Newman.
Visitation will be held Saturday, January 11, 2020, 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 820 Miamisburg-Centerville Road, Dayton, OH. Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation at 12:00 pm. Cremation will take place at a later date.
