Michael David Hild, Jr., age 32 of Dayton, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at his residence. Michael was born in Dayton, OH. He was a 2005 graduate of Benjamin Logan High School, where he started as a freshman on the varsity football team and continued playing all 4 years. Known as number 71, "Baby Hild", he was well known for his large stature and was referred to as "Gargantuan" by a local newspaper. His play on the field would lead to a scholarship with Urbana University. Michael set his sights towards the kitchen as he worked his way up from a line cook to meat cutter to head grillmaster where he later earned the nickname "Meat" with Texas Roadhouse in both Lima and Huber Heights, OH. His skills in the kitchen would catch the eye of the owner of Cooper's Hawk Winery and Restaurant in Florida where Michael became one of the youngest Master Chefs in under 2 years with the company.
Upon moving back to Ohio after several years with Cooper's Hawk, Michael found yet another passion in landscaping. He worked with Burkshire's Landscaping where he picked up all the tricks of the trade under Daniel Burkshire who learned that Michael moved fast for a big guy.
Michael is survived by his grandparents, David and Linda Hild, who also raised him; his uncle and "brother", Brian Hild; twin nephews, Peyton Michael and Mason Howard Hild; his siblings, Jordan Seals, Thomas Flint, Halie Flint and Alexander Hild. He is also survived by cousins, Jennifer Steinmetz, Andrea Yost, Brandon Yost, Nicholas Watkins and Amanda Heffington; uncles and aunts, Howard (Nancy) Watkins, Jr., Daniel (Sandra) Greene, and Teresa Yost; special people, Micheala Achenson Strayer, Dustyn Schinderwolf, Dylan Coleman, Brendon Morris, Rhonda Winningham (Clark) and hundreds of close friends and people whose he had hearts he touched.
