Larry L. Furlong, age 76, of Miamisburg, passed away September 13, 2019. He was born at home in West Milton, Ohio on June 1, 1943 to the late Kenneth and Neva (Wright) Furlong.
In addition to his parents Larry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda L. Furlong, daughter, Twila Shannon, grandson, Jason Enz, and great-granddaughter, Reese McClure.
He is survived by his son, Michael (Kris) McIntosh; daughter, Lisa Enz; grandson, Ryan McIntosh, granddaughters, Katelyn (Billy) McClure, Danielle Shannon (Joshua); 5 great-grandkids, Gavin, Kailyn, Bentley, Beckett and Brexten; his brother, Kent (Mary) Furlong, and many other relatives and friends.
Larry was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, and loved his family dearly. Larry and his wife Linda were very active, longtime members of Blessed Hope Baptist Church where he also served as a Deacon and was the "go to" guy.
He was retired from GM after 28 years of service. Larry worked in the Brake Hose Division Dept. 300 in Dayton and retired out of the Vandalia Delphi Plant in 1995.
Larry loved being outdoors. He owned a conversion bus and enjoyed bi-annual fishing trips to Dale Hollow, TN with his best of friends, Herschel and Mae.
He was known as a "Master Fix It All" as he had the talents to fix or make anything. In addition to working on his conversion bus he liked to tinker in his garage.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:30 am on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at Blessed Hope Baptist Church 3151 Annabelle Drive Kettering, Ohio 45429, with Pastor O'Bryant officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Blessed Hope Baptist Church Missionary Fund or to Hospice of Dayton in Larry's memory.
