William P. "Bill" Griffin, went to be with the Lord on July 20, 2019. He was 85 years old. Born May 3, 1934 in Norwalk, OH to Douglas and Marguerite (Pratt) Griffin, both of whom predeceased him. He grew up in Mansfield, OH and moved to Dayton after graduating from Ohio University, to begin a 30 year career with IBM selling office products for most of those years.
Shortly after joining the company, he entered the Army to fulfill his draft obligation. He was stationed in Germany where he met and married his wife, Erika. He was a member of Fairhaven Church for many years, actively attending the Men's Saturday Breakfast Fellowship, serving a term as elder, and leading small home group Bible studies.
Bill enjoyed playing bridge, creative writing, and following sports. Blessed with a sense of humor, he enjoyed making people laugh.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Erika, son Robert, daughters Jackie (Douglas) Perseghetti and Michelle (John) Kallas, 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, relatives, and many friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, July 29, 2019, 11:00 am at Fairhaven Church (637 E Whipp Rd, Centerville, OH 45459) with visitation beginning an hour earlier.
Interment held immediately afterward at Dayton National Cemetery for family and close friends.
